I was raised on hard times — lots of loss, but even more love. Growing up in a small southern Indiana town gave me a distinct accent, one I refused to lose just to fit in. Time has softened some of the edges, but my mind still thinks in small-town vernacular, and that comes through in my music.
Most of my songs lean country because that’s the language that feels honest to me. Some are pulled straight from my own life — the beautiful moments and the brutally hard truths. Others are observations of people and the world around me. Either way, I try to cut through the surface and get to what’s really underneath.
I don’t claim to have all the answers. None of us really do — we’re all just guessing our way through this life. My hope is that something in these songs resonates with you, makes you feel seen, or sparks a little self-reflection.
If a song moves you, even for a moment, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
